The Woman on the Other Side of the Wall

I sit in a two person cube. Cube life is always interesting, because there's always that person on the "other side" who can hear every conversation that you have.

That person is me.

The woman on the other side of the wall has conversations with the guy who's on the other side of her wall all day. About the weather, what hurricane is coming, what's going on with the election. Her ringtone on her phone is from a cartoon. So two days ago, it rings, and she answers it. From what I gathered, it was a friend or family member, and they started to catch up.

Of course I could hear every word. I really try to tune her out, but this time it was hard, because she was talking about a job, and the word job always gets my attention right now.

Apparently the woman on the other side of the wall's daughter just got a new job by campus at "Tequila Flats." The daughter doesn't really like the job at Tequila Flats, because she doesn't make as many tips. I began furiously typing to Lorena because I had to share the hilarity. She meant Tiajuana Flats, but I guess that since you can get tequila in Mexico, and Tiajuana is also in Mexico, hence the confusion.

And then she said, "I don't really like Tequila Flats, Chuluto's is better."

Chulutos? I had never heard of such a restaurant here. The friend starts to ask where is Chulutos, and the lady goes, "Oh you know, right on 17-92 and Fairbanks. Chuluto's, the Mexican place. You know what I'm talking about. It has tacos."

The friend starts to argue with her, and the lady says, "Chulutos! Google it! I know that it's there!"

And then she says, "Oh, Chipotle. Well. Close enough."

She's crazy!!
