The people make the place

This weekend I realized that it’s the people who make the place, not the place who make the people.

For two straight days, I have been surrounded by family and friends, for a wedding and to celebrate my birthday, and I love getting people that I love together in one spot. There have been more than one trip to Miami where I’ve gone down by myself, hung out with my parents, and sat on my ass the entire time.

But not this weekend. This weekend included introducing Kit’s boyfriend to the crew, and her first appearance in Miami since 2001. And I had so much fun. Friday night Jen came over, and we all caught up. Jon came over for dinner with the rest of my fam. Saturday was the Biltmore and Chihuly, and then Reed’s wedding. And Sunday was lunch at Monty’s with Jon, his girl, Larry, Cristin, Matt, and Jen. And it was so much fun to catch up and laugh, and I even got a few pictures.

And 24. I am 24 now, which is crazy, but it feels like a good age. This has been one of my best birthdays in a long time. Peter and I had dinner with twenty of my favorite people, and it was great. Then to top it off with this past weekend, and hanging out with my old crew. If this is any indication with the way that this next year will go, I think that 24 will be a kick ass year.
