on the way to gator bowl, i didn’t know what our results would be. brent and i put the teams together, made the room and car arrangements, bought stuff for the trip. secretary has always been fun for me. sending out the emails is so much easier on yahoo groups. i like being an officer. but i was not prepared for this weekend.

we won. the whole thing. well the girls did. the guys ended up meeting each other in the consolation finals of the men’s draw. but we won, beating both UF’s 1 and 2 teams in the consolation and main draw finals. the a-team kicked ass. i’m so proud of both teams, but kristin and jessica and i go way back to GA Tech when none of us really knew each other and kristin and i had to play each other in the semis of that tournament. and this time jess got to play on our team. and her and hayley make a kick ass doubs team. i can’t wait for nationals.

so they busted out this huge trophy and we had an awards ceremony and i had to make a speech. . .and i sounded so stupid. i said something along the lines of “i just wanna say thanks to UF for hosting the tournament, and to our guys team for getting out here and supporting us so much, and to my girls, because they rock.” i was team captain. crazyness! and we got medals and the trophy gets put into their rec center with our names on it. hahaha we beat the gators! i feel like i’ve seen our club grow so much since my freshman year, and now i’m a pseudojunior and its like its almost over or something. i hate for it to be over for me right when it gets started. the weekend was great. no drama just tennis.

i can’t wait for nationals. our girls ateam is going to kick some more ass.

right now i’m supposed to be doing homework and i’m just like..we won we won we won!

and UCF’s team as a whole won the sportsmanship award! because UF loves us, and we’re “near and dear to their hearts.” we were voted it by all the schools at the tournament. so cool.

i love those days when everything is right and good and you’re just happy.

i love tennis. i can’t believe i didn’t play for so long.

did i mention we got cool new shirts and visors too?

i better go before i babble anymore about how excited i am that we won!
