the live journal revolution
so here i am. i have a live journal. ben elisha are you proud of me? i told you i’d get one eventually. apparently a lot of people i know have one, and a lot of people i know are going to laugh at me for having this one. kelly won’t; i’m sure she’ll be checkin this thing like 20 times a day. kelly where’s yours? come on! you have to join the live journal revolution! then i can add some friends to this friend list of mine!
i guess you’re supposed to talk about your day or something, so my day went something like this: i wrote a paper before class, and then another paper after. 6 pgs in 3 hours. not too bad. until i realized that it was 5 pm and my paper was due at 6, and i was just spewing words to get to my 1400 word limit. 20 points off for not turning in that rough draft. poor kid in my english lit class has to peer review it too, and its a horrible paper. which reminds me, i better email it to him.
this weekend we’re going to gainesville to play in gatorbowl woohoo! nothin brightens my weekend like a tennis club trip. we’re gonna kick some ass again, even if it won’t be the same as nationals. hopefully lyanna and brian will get to meet up with us on sunday. she’s going sky diving on sunday. i told her she was brave; she was the one afraid to leave home when we were little kids and now she’s jumping out of planes. crazy crazy girl–it would take a lot to get me to do it! so i guess this is entry number one. . .
There are certain RULES to every livejournal user…
Wow, way to go Lindsay! Entry number 1! This is the entry you will look back on months from now.
Let me tell you a few livejournal tips I have learned along my 2 plus years as a member:
1. Make paragraph breaks in your entry. There is nothing harder to read then 50 sentences jammed together.
2. Download a LJ client, preferably one that has HTML functions such as making things bold or colored.
3. Becareful of the back and forward buttons on your browser if you are updating on the webpage. It might erase everything you just wrote.
4. Get a cool live journal icon. Either one that shows you are really artsy and deep, or one that is of just your eye ball or something. That seems to be the trend right now.
5. People love to get and post comments. You too will now experience the excitement of a live journal comment.
6. Don’t give your code out to just anyone. In most cases it’s the only one you get.
7. Becareful what you write. A lot of drama happens on this thing. Make things “friends only” if you are afraid anyone might be offended.
8. Watch yourself, some people become addicted. Especially at first. They post like 5 times a day and don’t get any school work done.
That’s basically all the advice I can give you. I like how I am currently your only friend. I am sure that will change though…
Good luck my friend!!!
