happy turkey day!

so its 8:30 in the am and i’m awake, and no one else in my house is.
the cousins are asleep, my parents are asleep, my sis is still asleep
(surprise surprise, she can be quite the little sleeper). and i am
awake. because i don’t sleep well here, because my room in orlando is
now really my room, and more like my home thank here is in its own way.

culture shock about being in mia: went to kmart to get some shampoo and
what not, and i was looking for something silly to get my grandma. so i
was lookin for the silly cheap toy aisle like they have at walmart, and
figuring that it would be around the same place as the rubik’s cube, i
stop an associate and ask her where the rubik’s cubes are. she looks at
me, puzzled, and replies, “que?” no english. none at all. i just said
thanks and walked away. welcome to miami, yo.

and i am huuuuuuuuuungry!

things that i am thankful for, in light of lizbeth’s list (which was very cool and well written by the way hehe):

1. the fact that this semester is almost over, and that i somehow
managed to trudge my way through it, despite the fact that i didn’t
think i could survive another six months.
2. the fam, of course.
3. the b/f, because he’s way cool, and “peter” translates into “rock”, and he’s definitely been mine the past six months
4. my friends. the old mia people i still k.i.t. with, the tennis people (old and new), and the dome dwellers. i love you all!
5. the tater, because she’s my best little buddy and she’s adorable!
6. that my grandfather has survived way longer than he was supposed to, and we’ll have another christmas with him
7. that my grandma is ok
8. that our building survived so many hurricanes and wasn’t condemned like a few others in our complex

the list can go on.

but its time for me to go outside and grab the thanksgiving day ads from the paper. and start waking up the house.

eat lots, have fun with your families, and have a great thanksgiving!
