so i’m up early to write two papers, and i don’t know why it’s so damn easy to procrastinate. i’m tired because i didn’t sleep well last night, and that’s not helping the concentration either.

c’est la vie.

i was watching dr. phil yesterday and they were talking about spicing up sex during marriage, and dr. phil asked one woman if she tried seducing her husband. she said she’s tried sedution (pronounced: se-doo-tion) but it hadn’t worked. it’s seduction, not sedution!! ahh! i was like what a way to make yourself look stupid on national tv because you don’t know a very simple word. i’m probably just being picky but those kind of things seriously annoy me. its probably the lit major in me, i dunno.

another pretty funny thing happened yesterday. as i was watching dr. phil, my house phone rang, and if you know me then that means that you know i screen my house phone calls due to telemarketers, a bad experience with an exboyfriend, and random people from UCF calling always wanting to ask questions about tennis club. it rang twice before i decided to answer it, and when i picked up an older man’s voice said:

“Hello!”

“Hi…” I replied.

“Is this Lindsay?” he asked.

“Yeah…” I answered.

“Hi Lindsay! This is John Kerry! How did you all weather the storm?” he said.

Now at this point i thought i was going crazy. I thought it might be a prank (what would John Kerry be doing calling me to ask about the hurricane), but you can’t take chances with a presidential candidate, even if you’re not his biggest fan. Maybe he could give us money for tennis club. I don’t know. So I said, “Fine..it’s not too bad where i live…is this really John Kerry?

He started laughing and said, “No, no, no. This is John KELLY.”

It was my roommates dad calling from North Carolina to see if we were ok. i’m such a dork.

i told you i’m going retarded! but it makes for a good story, don’t you think?
